MOSCOW, Aug 24 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin supported on Tuesday the idea of the United Russia party to roll over suspension of small business checks in all branches of the economy for one year.
"I support the proposal to prolong the moratorium on the scheduled checks of small business… Not only of the rural small and medium business, but in all spheres of economy for the next year," Putin told at a meeting with the party.
He also said that the authorities must focus on support of retirees. "It is this category of the population, these citizens that spent most time at home…. As far as I understand, these citizens bore many sudden costs: of medicines, protection devices, other costs. Besides, inflation exceeded the threshold. This is no surprise but we must take this into account in our work," Putin said.
The president added that both working and non-working retirees will get 10,000-ruble extra payments from the government.
Putin listed some of the other social support measures during the meeting -- establishment of an employment program for the people with disabilities, payments to the police, repairs of village post offices.
He said that economic recovery had almost finished, but it was important not to pause it in the future. "It is crucial not to allow a pause to happen… after the phase of recovery," the president said.
